Never been to Indiana for racing before, am very excited. The plans are to camp at Lawrenceburg & Gas city probably drive towards home, Reading Pa, after kokomo. Thought about getting a hotel room at Gas city but may not. Is there any where to get a shower near Lawerenceburg &/or Gas city? How early do the gates open at the tracks? Can you show up at 12, noon and walk in to put down blanket. Is a side trip to The speedway on Saturday morning worth it?, How far to indy? Any other info, tips or ideas ? Speedweek going on now here in Pa went to my home track grandview last night good show but I can't wait to see wingless sprints at these 3 tracks. Thanks ahead for all good info.:28:

I've camped in my motorhome at all three tacks that you mention, so I cannot tell you about showers at the various tracks. You should be able to put a blanket down at Gas City. Lots of seats at Lawrenceburg, so there's no problem there.

The IMS museum is worth the stopover - take a camera! And Speedweek is some of the best that you'll ever see!

the trip to the muesum is a must if you have never been. You'll be going though indy anyway on you way to Gas City, might as well make the trip to the west side to check it out. its only gonna add about 45 mins of drive time to you trip plus whatever you spend at the muesum. there is alot of construction on the west side of indy. but it shouldnt be bad on a saturday morning.

If you're a gambling man, there is the Hollywood casino straight across from the speedway in Lawrenceburg. But if your luck is anything like mine you'll be a :2:.

Berks co,

A note of caution,

Indiana Sprint week is as addicting as anything I can think of. Many, many folks plan their vacations, dare I say, their whole year around these 10 days in July. My son and I came first in 2000 and haven't missed since. Our families know not to expect us to be around these two weeks. They know not to plan anything that needs our attendance. There is no cure for this addiction - you must have this fix every year or life may seem meaningless (OK, OK maybe it's not that bad).

Hit the museum, but plan on spending some time there.
