Terry Goff Wins UMRA Feature at Anderson

Terry Goff was a UMRA feature winner for the 106th time in his career on Saturday night at the Anderson Speedway but few have been quite as emotional as this one.
When the 25-lap feature began, Terry started tenth for the second week in a row. After a masterful drive through the field early on that included a tense moment with teammate Brent Turner, Terry set his sights on his brother Oogie, a repeat of the feature a week ago at Mount Lawn. It was not smooth sailing from there however as Oogie and Brent turned up the heat in the closing laps and very nearly got by Terry.
The victory was Terry Goff’s third win of the 2009 season and third straight win at the Anderson Speedway and also came on his grandson’s third birthday. The emotion flowed in victory lane on Father’s Day weekend as Terry dedicated the win to the memory of his father.
For the second week in a row Terry Goff collected the certificate to the Dutch Mill Buffet in Millroy, Indiana for winning the feature and also received the five gallons of fuel from G&G Oil for being the “Hard Charger of the Race.”
Next up for the UMRA TQ Midgets is the first of two nights of racing at the Rush County Fairgrounds in Rushville on Friday night.

I noticed that the 11th place finisher is Brad Armstrong. Is this the same Brad Armstrong that runs sprint cars and also ran for I think county commissioner in Hancock County?

An awesome night on the track that was kind of overshadowed by someone getting hit in the pits by one of the sprints, not sure how bad it was as we were back in the TQ pits and it happened at the bottom of the hill as you come off the track in turn 4. The winged sprints were AWESOME, those guys were flying and lots of side by side racing. The TQs did a good job, Terry was just hooked up and flying, qualified at 13.010 for fast time in a TQ! Brandon Gray wasn't far behind in Qualifing. The race was close at the end with the first 3 nose to tail and I do mean NOSE TO TAIL. Couple of us stuck around for the figure 8s, let's just say was VERY interesting action, on and off the track! We sat on the frontstretch and the actions of the people in the stands was as entertaining as the cars on the track! Good night of racing and hopefully the person hit is OK
