KIVA NIGHT AT BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY THIS FRIDAY NIGHT JUNE 19TH
BLOOMINGTON, IND.-JUNE 16, 2009- Racing action returns to the Bloomington Speedway this Friday night, June 16th with the Safety Kleen Sprint Cars, Tire and Wheel Center UMP Super Stocks, and O'Neal Wood Products UMP Modifieds on the card. Kiva Night at Bloomington Speedway will mark the halfway point of the season, as this marks race number 11 on the 22 race schedule. The first half of the season has been one to remember already, as three wide finishes and last lap passes for the win have been commonplace. In previous action at the Bloomington Speedway, the USAC National Midgets visited the famed 1/4 mile, for "Indiana Midget Week". Brad Kuhn of Avon, IN. stunned the large crowd with a last lap pass on Brad Sweet to pick up the victory. In Safety Kleen Sprint Car action, Bedford, IN native Brady Short scored a convincing win over Jerry Coons, Jr with Chad Boat, Jon Stanbrough, and Jeff Bland Jr. battling three wide behind them.
Current Bloomington Speedway points standings sees Brady Short holding an eight point advantage over Jeff Bland Jr. Jon Sciscoe, Ty Deckard, and Scott Hampton complete the top five in the Safety Kleen Sprint Car division. In the Tire and Wheel Center UMP Super Stock division, Clayton Perry has a slim two point advantage over three time winner Troy Clark. Brad Cummings, Lee Hobbs, and Jack Frye make up the remainder of the top five. O'Neal Wood Products UMP Modified points standings are the closest of all, as only 15 points seperates the top four, and 37 points seperates the top five. Kent Robinson currently sits atop the standings with Clint Demoss, Josh Eads, John Demoss, and Matt Bex making up the top five.
