Does any one here have this helmet?
Im thinking about getting it as my old trusty Simpson RX8 is no longer legal.
My ideal helmet would be a super shark, but the wallet can't justify it right now.
I realize you only get one bucket on those shoulders, so I want something good to put it in.
If you have the Bell K-1 Sport - what do you like or dislike about it?
How much did you pay for it?
Thanks in advance.

I have the K-1 sport and love it. If you dont have one spotted right know you can check out my buddy Chris at North American race gear on gasoline alley. Just tell him Brandon Gray sent you. As far as the helmet I have owned both a bell and a simpson and they are both great but the K-1 is so light and just a good looking helmet.

Brandon. Thanks for the input. What were you wearing when you took that tumble at Osgood?

Jon, if I were getting a new one looking at all the options, I would suggest getting one with a wicker or "spoiler", and also the lip at the bottom which the K-1 sport has. I always used a standard Super Shark in karting and it worked out good but in sprints and some of the faster TQ tracks, it felt like my helmet was trying to rise on me (yes it was the right size), I then bought a new Vudo and don't have that problem anymore and still use the Vudo's. I haven't ever used Bell products but I'm sure they are great quality, I've always used Simpson and have took some extremely hard hits many of times and they have held up good. Used an Impact once and didnt like how it fit or felt.

Jon,

I was a die hard Simpson fan for years but I bought once my Vudo while out I purchased a Bell GTX (The next upgrade from the K1) and I now have 2!! They fit great and I've had no lifting or buffeting while wearing it.

Like you said, money is tight but don't take a short cut in the helmet department. The GTX is perfect for midgets and sprintcars and well worth the money.

I run the K-2 pro very similar helmet. I like it better than the simpson super shark I had and more than the Impacts i have tried on. I find the bells to be a lot more comfortable at least on my head especially in the forehead area is where i notice a little more padding than the others or something its just a lot more comfortable.
