Results from Saturday night's USAC Western States Midget races list Ricky Shelton as qualifying 6th, 4th in the Dash, 3rd in his Heat, and 22nd in the Feature.
Anyone know if this is the same Ricky Shelton who raced here in the Midwest 10 or 12 years ago? |

Same one! I'd heard that they'd been planning to run him. I guess he's been hanging out a little bit lately...

I was there when he had the famous wreck at 16th st. He was so high in the air that you could see cars going down 16th st in the gap between him and the top of the wall. Wicked wreck. You got a clip of that one DO?

Yeah that was Ricky and yes he had a good night going. Had a good run going till the #19 car spun in front of him and he had nowhere to go. He will be back in the Shannon McQueen racing Spike Esslinger this weekend at Ventura
