The local TV stations have been showing video of damage to Tom Helfrich's farm by a tornado that touched down in Gibson county yesterday morning. His grain bin was destroyed and the back window of his pickup was broken, but his home and the race track apparently escaped any damage and there were no injuries.
According to the TV interview with Tom the sirens went off in Haubstadt ten minutes after the tornado touched down. However, there were severe storm warnings in the area at the time.
Glad that Tom and his family are OK and the track escaped the wrath of Mother Nature.
