Which is faster? I had a debate with a friend about which was faster. I thought at Toledo when both were there the sprints were faster. Does anybody have any facts to prove who was right?

FYI. I was in the pits after the races in 2006 and Russ Wood said that the AVSS were qualifying on a much softer tire compound. Some of the other supermodified drivers were saying that this was a tremendous advantage for the sprint cars.

I hear this all the time. If you think of all the advantages Supermodifieds have over Sprint cars, softer tires doesn't even get close to making them equal...
ISMA + :Pressurized Wing, Lower CG, Wider Front Tires, Bigger CI motor, LEFT SIDE weight, Aero Dynamics, Fuel Tank Positions, Width, Wheelbase...

IMO the sprint cars are just much more maneuverable and fast reacting, they can be hussled through the corners.

If you want to see what cars are really faster check out the times at Berlin, AVSS were like 12.8's and 12.9's in qualifying, ISMA was 13.9's and 14.0's if I remember correctly.

Toledo is an excellent venue for both of these series. I enjoy this event every year and I take a vacation day just to make sure that I don't miss anything. Practice, qualifying and racing.:Steer It doesn't get any better than this.:thumb Last years rain out was a huge disappointment.:headbang

I agree 100% one of the best races of the year, along with the open wheel show at Berlin, those two are a must SEE for any openwheel fan.
Toledo is a really great track, perfect size, wide and fast.
