After Sammy's win last night, a few of us watched him do a TV interview while Speed TV's Robin Miller (along with another cameraman) was waiting off to the side. When that interview was completed, Robin walked over to Sammy and seemed to be asking for an interview. Sammy kept walking back towards the victory stage with Miller it tow.

Miller lightly took a hold of Sammy's arm as if he wanted to stop him for an interview. The cameraman turned on the cameras light but Sammy not only wasn't stopping, he wasnt looking into the direction of the camera either (even though it was shinning on him). Then Miller came to a stop and dropped his microphone to his waistside while the light on the camera went off as Sammy continued to walk away. Those of us who had witnessed that senerio play out pretty much agreed that what we all had just witnessed sure looked pretty strange.

As always, I'm looking forwards to Miller's coverage on the Speed Report tonight. He usually finds some good stuff to cover.

So why do you think he din't stop for the interview? Was he just trying to get to the Victory podium or what?

Was just making an observation on what we all witnessed. Swindell had already been interviewed over the PA in victory lane by the track announcer upon pulling in before the senario I mentioned. He did walk back to it after the one TV interview he gave to partake in more photo shots. If you had seen what we did, you would understand why we were a little puzzled over what we saw. [/B]

My guess would be Robin Miller is not on Sammy's good side maybe for something Mr.Miller has said about the Swindells. Robin has rubbed people the wrong way before.

Robin must have caught up to Sammy later on. He has a story on the Chili Bowl with a couple of quotes by Sammy.

When I want personality, I tune into the Jay Leno show. When I want to watch one of the greatest driver/mechanics to ever strap in, I watch Sammy...

Imagine that.
Sammy went over to get his picture taken by the dozens of photographers there rather than talk to one reporter. As someone who is frequently in that group of photographers, it gets pretty frustrating waiting for TV to get done with the winner and all of the emotion is drained out of them. All we get is stale grip-and-grin photos.

Are you talking about Sammy or Robin? I find people with these type of personalities usually can't get along with those that have the same type.

Sammy.........No respect for him after he turned away from my kids one year trying to get an autograph.
