I’m wondering if anyone out there knows if there’s any documentation of SOD race’s or whatever version they called themselves over the years? Back when I worked at Crown Point Speedway (might have been Southlake at the time) we had one of their races there. I was looking for results. If anyone can point me in a direction, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Crown Point was my home track. My best friends raced there for years in the Limited Late Model and UMP Modified Divisions (Buzzard Race Cars Mike Hollifield 78, Kenny Carlson 21, & Bill Davis 71). If you worked an CPS there is a great chance we probably spoke at one time or another. The track become Crown Point in 2000. It was Southlake Speedway and Broadway Speedway before that.

That SOD race was May 7th, 2005 - Crown Point Page. I have about 20 or so pictures from that race. https://www.thethirdturn.com/wiki/Crown_Point_Speedway

This website has every race track from around the globe and each tracks big events.

The Third Turns is a great website for past results. When I do Flash Back results this is where they come from.

The tracks are listed by alphabet. Click on each letter and you with get the tracks name starting with each letter. https://www.thethirdturn.com/wiki/Track_Database:Index

Might have been the GLOSS show. That’s what I meant by SOD’s variations. If the track closed in 05 that would’ve been when the O’Connors owned it and I didn’t work for them. They did hire me to work for them until my day job required me to work weekends so it never happened. I spent a lot of time at Broadway Speedway. Thanks for the info, I’ll look into it. Hopefully somewhere it’s got a full race result

It only has the top 3. Boston Reid won, followed by Brett Mann, & Todd Kelley. I've looked for GLOSS results as well and can't find any from those Great Lakes Outlaw Sprint Series days. That was good race.

Does anyone on here know where you can find old G.L.O.S.S. Series results? I have search all over the internet for them.

John Naida ran SOD for years. In 2015, with the car numbers for 360 sprints in Michigan dwindling, he had a conference with the drivers in the pits at Hartford Speedway on September 4th. I was standing there listening. He told them that in 2016 SOD was changing their formula to allow an unlimited engine displacement. They just had to run the same spec RR tire. Things went well with this new formula the first year.

Car count was good early on but subsequently faded. Eventually SOD was sold to the guy who was running Baer Field. It went sideways from there and that was that.

Barry Marlow picked up the pieces from the 360 sprinters and after a while the car numbers increased.

Cannot say one bad thing about John Naida, or his son Dain, daughter Adrianna Irwin, her husband Steve, or Darin Naida. All top shelf people.

But if you are ever bored, just talk to Steve.
