Lawrenceburg Speedway ransacked, every equipment key stolen.
$1500 Reward!!
The speedway has put up $1000 and thank you so much to Lawrenceburg Speedway Fire-Rescue & Bobby Gompf for adding another $500
This is a case of a whole lot of pennies adding up to dollars. Yes it’s all repairable…. We know that but that doesn’t make us any less sick about all of this.
Please share especially in the Lawrenceburg/Greendale area.
The summary: kids got into the tech building, got keys to everything we own( which we have not yet located) went joy riding, destroyed both the track exit and entrance gates by plowing through them with a push truck, , bent frames on golf carts, tore down menu boards in the midway, etc…. etc….
Kids talk and they love to video and post everything!
Parents, ask your kids if they’ve heard anything at school. At the end of the day it’s much more than the cost of damages. These punks also took 27 sets of keys to our equipment while going through finding matches for their joy rides. They probably ditched them somewhere… the time and $$$ it will cost to have all these things rekeyed makes us sick! PLEASE do the right thing! This is not kids being kids. This is kids being criminals!
Unbelievable can't we all just get along. God bless America 🇺🇸. They will have it ready to rock and roll for the usac racing events in April. Thanks ☺️

Not to be mean but just out of curiosity, was this comment even needed. The track had stuff stolen. This isn't funny not event if it was meant as a joke. Track Promoters / Owners don't need crap like this to happen.

Think you missed school because that comment has NO CLASS! Kinda like someone graffiting your house and the neighbors say, "Well it needed painting anyway........."
Oooh burn, no CLASS. Nobody died Chuckles, so get over yourself. Someone made a joke, and it was funny because it seems like there might be a little truth to it. Especially if you’ve had to buy tires after racing there.
Now on a serious note, let’s hope they find who was responsible because there is nothing worse than a thief and a vandal, except maybe someone who can’t take a joke.

I can take a joke, Just find no humor in someone's misfortune.
The movie your screen name is from is funny (Kingpin)
This is very unfortunate for the Lawrenceburg Speedway, its owners, promoters, business partners, and others involved with the track. I do not see this okay or funny in any way. My truck was broken into one time about 8 years ago and to this day I still dont feel good about it, the guy was on camera in 3 different businesses trying to use my cards that I had already cancelled, proof by the card companies and businesses cameras, and the cops did not do a single thing about it. So yes I get it, it sucks, it's not right.
However, I watched the news report on this. "We believe it was 2 teenagers/kids, we have footprints, and we have cameras." Okay well footprints mean nothing. All they do is show someone was there. IF there is snow, it may give you a trail at best. Size of shoe/prints is no indication of age of person(s). So then the cameras. If their older security cameras, like most businesses, they suck. Their blurry and does not give a very good description of the suspects. Just like most robberies in businesses, look at the photos police post, they are so blurry, you think you have double vision when your stone sober. Most kids wouldn't have the guts to do this and be there that long. Was there not a lookout vehicle? Did they walk? Ride bikes? Should be mud trail if so? So then my next question which for me is one of the biggest. It's the offseason...why would ANYTHING of any sort of value, outside of the actual vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to 27 sets of keys, be at the track??? Its 2022, not 1960, 70s, 80s, 90s. Locks keep honest people honest, that's it.
So again being real, any nearby businesses showing vehicles coming in or out of the track/property? Any and all social media accounts being watched for anything said from anyone that may have been involved or know who was involved? Kids likely would have talked at school by now, noone has said anything? So here is a thought...was there any big situations this year at the track where someone was extremely pissed off? Maybe got thrown out? Maybe arrested? Maybe banned? Any employee that is bitter or pissed off about something? Seemed like someone knew where everything was at? Took that much time on the property and wasnt seen by anyone during that amount of time? Again, typically not something a teenager would try and pull.
Lastly, I hope the suspects are caught. If its adults, throw the books at em. Make em pay every penny. IF it turns out to be kids, make the parents pay, but maybe the kids should be given an educational opportunity about life instead of ruining their life. Maybe make them pick up the trash every race, pick up rocks from the racing surface before/after every race. Hopefully the keys are found regardless who did it, I'm sure it won't be easy trying to make some of the keys for some of the pieces of equipment, much less 27 pieces of equipment.
