BOSS Border Battles This Weekend at Moler and Richmond
The MPD Racing Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series is ready for rounds 6 and 7 of the 2021 championship title fight. The touring drivers will make their 3rd all time appearance at Moler Raceway Park near Williamsburg, Ohio on Friday night and their 2nd ever appearance at Richmond Raceway in Kentucky on Saturday night.
The traditional BOSS non winged sprints first appeared at Moler in 2015 with a packed pit area of 34 cars, but mother nature preempted the show during the 3rd heat race. The tour returned in June of 2019 as Luke Hall scored the win in the Jon Nelson owned 9N. Hall and Nelson will be among the entries this weekend looking to back up that win.
The only previous BOSS show at Richmond Raceway was a thriller final lap in 2018 as Paul Dues and Matt Cooley traded the lead, banging wheels on the last lap. Neither car ran straight off turn 4 to the checkers, and Dues narrowly nipped Cooley at the line for his first career win over a 22 car field! The Minster, Ohio driver backed it up with his second career BOSS win in the most recent race at Waynesfield Raceway Park on May 30th. Rain soured the 2019 date and COVID-19 claimed the 2020 effort.
Fremont, Ohio's Cody White currently holds the lead in the championship standings over 2014 champion Mike Miller. Minnesota invader Rob Caho sits 3rd in the standings with Dustin Ingle and 2019 titlist Matt Westfall rounding out the top 5. Steve Little, Blake Vermillion, Saban Bibent, Parker Frederickson, Lee Underwood, Luke Hall, Paul Dues, Jesse Vermillion, defending champion Dallas Hewitt and Drew Rader round out the top 15, almost all of which are expected to compete this weekend.
Friday night, gates will open at 4:30 with BOSS engine heat prior to the drivers meeting which will be at 6:30. Hot laps will begin at 7 with racing at 8 pm. Pit passes will be $35. On Saturday at Richmond, pit gates will open early at 2 pm with general admission gates opening at 4. Hot laps will be at 6 pm with racing at 7. Pit passes will be $35 with kids pit passes (ages 6-12) just $15. Adult general admission is $20 with kids 12 and under free.
Both events will feature the new 2021 standard BOSS payout of $2,000 to win and $300 to start. Also, MUFFLERS ARE REQUIRED at both tracks this weekend. Any bolt on or welded on muffler or visible muffler insert is legal. Tires must be 4 corner Hoosiers with the right rear a choice of the H15, H20, Medium, W18 or Racesaver spec tire. You do NOT need to run the same right rear all night.
The official host hotel is the Ameristay just 11 miles from Moler on route 32. Double bed rooms are just $94 plus tax. It is important that parking is limited for trailers. Race rigs CAN use the Frisch's Restaurant lot next door, but please try to conserve space and move your race rig as soon as conveniently possible Saturday morning. To reserve a room, please call 513-735-4678 and ask for the BOSS Racing Series rate!

One more day for Moler! A track that's the same distance for me as Lawrenceburg and I've only seen Non wing there once in which Casey Shuman would have won but was penalized. (Not BOSS)
