Might be something here or not. When I was racing sprint cars a friend of mine ask me to drive his Street Stock in the Street Stock World Championship at Volusia in the '90s. I did and easily made the show. The point is...EVERYTHING was like slow motion to me because the sprint car was so much fast and I had plenty of time to think about what was happening around me or fixing to happen.

So could it be that Larson has been racing at 200 mph in NASCAR and this feels slower to him and allows him to see the field in a much broader and slower prospective than others. Seems like every good move has been calculative on his part....Kinda like Earnhardt could see air...

Just a conversation perspective!!!

How do you explain Larson doing the exact same thing before he went 200 mph in NASCAR

Just an update. Kyle qualified 3rd fastest in Qualifying Group B, which had 26 cars. 6th fastest overall. After he had turned in the fastest lap in the first hot lap session. The one before the rain delay. Especially good since it's the Lucas Oil Late Model Series, which is the series with the highest concentration of big stars.

Won his heat and will be starting the feature on the outside of the 3rd row.

So, in his first dirt late model start he finished 5th. Was 3rd and threatening Kyle Strickler with a couple of laps left for 2nd, but smacked the wall and dropped to 5th before the finish. And along the way, he had a great battle with Jimmy Owens to take 3rd. And if you know anything about Late Model racing, you know what great company you're in, if you're battling Owens late in a race.
