Jim, we've been without water since last Friday night, we had a leak I could not fix, so I finally called a plumber, they showed up to today, and I had plenty of time to reflect on the way it was when I was younger, and all we had was a cystern and a pump, no hot water, just a wood stove and, and an ice delivery once a week and a bath once a week, not many people would believe that story, but at my age it comes back really easy, just like your story, but that's what it was, 80+ years later.
