After seeing this on anther website (4m.net) and thought it would be an interesting conversation here on IOW
So I decided to see what you all think. It could help increase your business 30% or more. Does your local track take plastic? What are the positives and negatives? Seen a lot of interesting comments on this topic. What are you thoughts on this? Seems it's catching on at tracks across the country. I know Eldora does but they have a minimum $5 purchase. Plymouth Speedway has them at the ticket booth and I believe one at the pit gate as well.

I think a cash business leaves no paper trail for the IRS to follow.

None of the tracks we ran this year had one at pit gate, couldn’t say about front gate as I never go through one. Concession stands should have them though I believe.

Tri City speedway in Granite City takes them, but I believe they charge an extra $1

I've never used it at any track, but I think Brownstown is one at both ends, it would sure speed things up.

I think as people get away from carrying a lot of cash it might make things more fan friendly to be credit card friendly.

Race tracks need to be cash ,they rely on that to make payoff, for racers, most racers at least lower classes, might spend there last dollars to get to race track, and rely on cash to get home, so paying payoff by check won't help them, can see it at concession stand but not really anywhere else

Several tracks in the Kansas City area take plastic at the front gates. (don't know about the back gates) It seems to actually take longer than cash. Most of the tracks seem to run the credit cards off of a phone line and they are painfully slow. I know that some of the tracks have credit card only lines.
