I was just on the Lawrenceburg Speedway website and they have their 2009 schedule posted. It looks like Midget Week has moved from August to mid June.

Why do that move are they actually going to get some more non-wing sprint dates for the dirt because after sprintweek is over there schedule is not good nothing until four crown except where they added osky.

They're trying to split things up. So August isn't purely midgets and sprint cars maybe have some races later in the year. It's a great move. Applaud them.

The schedule also shows just one night of SprintWeek.
Interesting.

I'd bet we get THAT back for sprintweek, wouldnt surprise me to see Brownstown get one too. Unlike those of you that haul motorhomes around all week I like going to each track just once.

I'm not a huge fan of Sprintweek double-dips either but if they are going to have one or more again in '09 you know what track I'm pulling for.
Should be interesting with Gas City up in the air as well.

Heck, I'd like to see Tri-State get a double dip. That is one great place for racing.

I still say, why not put it up for bid? If each track gets one race, and that leaves two more open dates for tracks to get a second race, why not offer those races to the two highest bidders? That puts more money into the racers' pockets, and gives us more good races during the week...

Because that makes way too much sense for USAC.
