Why do all of these big west swing races offer such weak payouts. I thought the west coast was where all of the money was. 6K to 10K to win is not unusual here in the midwest. Would not pay for a midwest car owner to head out there.

The economy might have something to do with it.

Manzys ASCS Western World Championship paid 3K to win. A Championship for 3K?? Give me a break. Did they give Hockett a pack of baseball cards also. I don't think it is the economy, as I assume this race paid the same last year.

I never want to hear about weak payouts. There are guys on here that race for $500 to win every Saturday night.

That is true, but this is a "Western Championship". Give me a break and pay out some cash. These are high dollar race teams running for $3,000 to win. What a joke.

What joke ? If the promoters know that someone is willing to race for $500 to win, they know that they'll get people at $3000. You may not like it , but it is guys who race for low purses that keep them low every where else. I'm just glad Tom Helfrich and the MSCS don't see it that way. In Indiana he sure make a difference.

I am one of those teams, but then again the most I will pay in fuel round trip is about $150.00 versus I would suspect an average of $1,500.00 to go out west.

Actually, MSCS purses kind of stink. $10,000 to win $200 to start. $3000 to win $200 to start. Regular show at Lawrenceburg? $200 to start. Except for the money up near the front, it's a regular show purse. They do pay $100 to show where, a regular local show pays $50. However, the difference there is less than two pit passes. Every little bit helps, though.
