We are pretty excited to see this. Waiting for rules and schedule but hoping it works out that we can bring 1 maybe 2 cars from CA and hit a couple this year and maybe more next year.

Did this just kill the Illini Series?

I wondered same thing...hope not...maybe they can work together...the way I read the POWRi story, it sounds like its at Grundy only for now...the Illini series has made trips to other pavement tracks thru the years (Rockford Speedway, Madison, Dells, South Bend, etc)

Per their FB page, they are still looking at all options for 2018. My fear is the reality that this area can't support multiple midget series. There are already too many around the Midwest and I feel like that is what's hurting the sport in general.

I believe this is the end of umara, illini midgets, irs etc.i remember 50 plus midgets on a Saturday night .no support classes.aaron willis, who passed away sunday, ran the club then.things in racing go in cycles.drivers marry, have families, car owners don't have the desire to race anymore, leadership changes, motors go up in price, a hundred reasons why things never stay the same.now a new guy ,an experienced guy with a proven record of success, will try and I hope hes the savior to bring back pavement midget racing to grundy county.
