If this December 15th show in The Center is anywhere near as entertaining as last years' December race or this past September 1st show during the Du Quoin State Fair it is sure to be a great one!
We will definitely be making the 5 hour drive to Du Quoin again this December. Kind of a Christmas present to ourselves!
Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.
Last years race was great with quite a battle between Bryan Clauson, and T-Mez for quite a few laps, with Clauson taking the win over T-Mez,and Chett Gehrke finishing 3rd in his old Focus midget that was fitted with an Ecotec motor.

Speaking of Gehrke, has anyone heard how is coming along, after the bad crash at Belle-Claire this past summer?

I saw the "One man driving machine" at the Gold Crown and asked about any upcoming races. He said he was planning on being at the Battle at the Center, and also a couple other races in late November and early December in Texas as I recall. In his own old Focus Midget now with an Ecotec under the hood. He's basically healed up from that crash.Hated to see him get hurt. He was having a fairly good season (2nd in POWRi points at the time of the crash) up until then.
