This is very weird. I just drove by there after leaving the Colts game on Sunday. I also wondered if it was still there and it was still atop the corner of the building. It made me think of the many times that my family drove by there while growing up.

It's pretty sad to see it go, but I'm happy that I was able to re-live my younger years for one more time on Sunday afternoon.

It will be great to see it back on some tracks for vintage events.

I'm sure the car is starting to get unsafe up there. I must say I looked for that car every single time we went to downtown. As far back as I can remember. As a kid I started looking long before we ever got to 465. Then I learned I did not have to look until after 465. After a few more trips it became, don't have to start paying attention until after we go by the 5 points stop light. i can remember makeing trip downtown with friends, and pointing it out to them. 2 weeks ago we were headed to the zoo. I slowed down and showed it to my 2 year old. We get there and she tells her mom, "Race car on roof. Vroom Vroom." lol I hope they put something back up there.
