We would love to be there but can't this time around. Working the IHSAA state track meet in Bloomington. I hope that maybe with the change in promoters at THAT, the Hut 100 can return to the track and some of the past prominence.
Mike
Be nice to people on the way up. You might need them on the way down. Jimmy Durante
As a kid racing flat track bikes at the time, I stumbled upon an "ABC's Wide World of Sports" broadcast of the Hut Hundred many years ago. I'll never forget watching Mel Kenyon running that Yellow Midget at Terre Haute. Right then I knew I was going to get into one of those machines somehow.
I eventually got to see a Hut Hundred race but unfortunately it was in about 2005 and the event was a shadow of its former glory by then. I hope that the new track works out and that the tradition lives on. I've seen other great races change venues - Turkey Night at Ascot comes to mind - it can be done but its tough.

Mike, it would be nice to see the Hut Hundred return to it's roots, but it seems the midget owners don't want to run the half-miles, and the race is now establishing it's own identity at Haubstadt.
