Hi guys, I have a air/oil cooled gsxr 1200 in my mini sprint. The car has close to 80 lb's oil pressure at idle according to my gauge. That seems excessive to me. What do you think ?

In our 600's, and also in the TQ, 80 pounds of pressure at idle is fine. When it gets warm, it should drop down to around 40-60 under racing conditions, and sometimes under yellows way lower than that.

Be more concerned with oil temperature than pressure. As long as you have pressure that is. Oil Temperature will destroy an engine just as fast as pressure will.

I'm in the same boat with the same setup, but I'm around 60lbs after it's has some heat in it. I might be at 80 at idle but I found a hole rubbed in my pressure line to the guage the other night. On a cool day when I had my gsxr1000 bike, it would be almost 90lbs at idle but lowered after it warmed up.
