Chris Economaki has reported in tomorrow's issue of NSSN that former USAC sprint car owner Donald Watson, 67 has passed. Don and his late father George "Shorty" Watson campaigned a Leffler sprinter in the 60's and 70's that was driven by Bob Kinser, Butch Wilkerson, Clark Templeman, and Tim Richmond. May he RIP.

I recall Clark Templeman II had a lone USAC sprint victory and I am remembering that it was at Eldora (I think I was there). Do you know if Clark was driving the Ray and Cissy Smith #14 car that day?

No, I do not know that, Gregg, but I will attempt to find out.

Not to steal Dwight's thunder, but yep, Templeman was in the Smith #14 for that win. I was there also. It was on 6/20/76. Jackie Howerton had won the previous night (6/19/76) in the Longhorn #6
