Just a feel good thread that this website sometimes needs.

Looking back on the Indiana Midget Week show at Lawrenceburg I'm taking stock of the number of people I met last Saturday as a result mostly of Indianaopenwheel and I should give a callout to Trackforum for a few of these people.

So here is my list: Fishburger, Andrew Quinn, Fishnman, Tim Watson, BigBudMan, Jerry Shaw, Robert Gatton, Danny Burton, Charles Nungester, Rich H., Rick's Pics, Bob Clauson, itsanonwingthing, Zman and Smith19.

Add people I was introduced to for the first time that evening: Dick Monahan and Jimmy Diesel. I'm very pleased to have met them and hope to see them again very soon.

Add to this people I met that don't do the racing internet so much, like Ed Kempf and Jerry's significant other.

Add to this people who were there but just didn't see or didn't get to say hi to like Aero. I've seen Dave and Kim but they were pretty busy at the time.

I missed a few people I'm sure. That happens constantly with someone who came into this world with a lousy memory to start with, only to get worse over the years.

That's a lot of people I've met thanks to this website. It's really great to share observations, memories, lies ... with so many people. It makes being a racing fan that much more enjoyable. I don't think most of these acquaintances could have been possible without IOW. Thank you so much, Bill.

I also have met a lot of people from the board over the last couple years and it sure makes our out of state trips more enjoyable when you arrive at a track as far away as we come from and you know people by just seeing their faces. Really makes you feel at home!

Well said Gregg...and if I may, I would add just a few more we/I visited with on that night:

J.J. Hughes plus his mom and dad, Michael Fischesser, Chad Boespflug, Sean Johnson and his dad, Jackie Litchfield Apted, Barry Ryan, Big Steve, Andrew Elson and his dad, Brent Furay, Chuck Goyette, Ed Cook, Duane, Jim Rudisell (Dave's dad who also answers to "Rudy") and more.

As you said, "that's a lot of people" we've enjoyed talking with. Maybe one of these nights we'll go up in the stands and watch the racing.

I echo your thoughts about IOW and extend my THANKS and praise to bossman Bill Gardner.

And now......QUIT RAINING!!

Spoke to one of your fellow cheese heads at Kokomo but did'nt get chance to ask him if he was on IOW.

You go to a track for decades, See many people many times and even chat sometimes without knowing their names and who they are.

IOW changed that with a lot of people

Met you at of all places. Eldora last year. You and your Pop were a pleasure to meet. The cheese was excellent also

Don't forget the big guy who comes south with Tim. Don't recall his name, but a friendly guy who obviously love racing here. I'm guessing he's the one who holds the bail money should Tim need it.

The big guy is Ted, we grew up close to each other and use to race our bicycles between the wall and the grandstand here 35 years ago. Until the day i walked home cause my bicycle was not in operable condition to drive, it ended up in a dumpster. Ted does hold the bail money and is around incase somebody drops the hammer on me for some reason.

Hey fellas, This crazy idea I had several years ago... I think it worked. Well, at least sometimes it does.

Sitting with friends and enjoying a great race night always equals some good memories!

Oh yeah Bill, the idea worked allright. I can walk into a few tracks in Indiana and see about the same amount of people that i know as if i walked into our local track that's only a couple miles from my house.

I have to add my two cents here. I've been coming to Sprint Week for many years, but it has become much better since I've met so many more people as a result of this forum. And, I might never have started coming to Midget Week if it weren't for the great reports here. Now, I like it even better than Sprint Week. My big problem is that I'm terrible with names and now I have to remember both real names and screen names! I need some kind of picture book I can carry around.
