The 2nd USAC Lightning Sprint Nationals will be held at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO on Sept 14th & 15th.

Fri Nite A feature pays $ 300 to win and $ 75 to start. The top 4 from the B Feature(s) transfer to the A. Non transfers paid $ 50. Each nite is a separate race nite. You do not have to run Fri to run on Sat. Top 2 places in Fri A Main guaranteed a starting spot in Sat A main.

Sat Nite A Feature pays $ 1500 to win and $ 250 to start. The top 4 in the B Feature(s) will transfer to the A. Non transfers paid $ 100.

The total purse is approximately $ 13,000. There is no entry fee. Pit Passes are $ 30 ea nite. We will draw for heat lineups and we are using passing points each nite.

It has just been confirmed that the rain date will be Sunday afternoon Sept 16th.

We have gotten calls from Canada, North Dakota, Indiana, Illinois,
Colorado, Ohio, and NY concerning this race. With good participation, Lake Ozark Speedway would like to make this an annual event.

We have been blessed with a great weather forecast for this weekends race. Sunny and 80 to 85 during the day and high 60's at nite.

Remember that the 2018 USAC rules says you need only a Hoosier RR 82 SP2 or SP3.
For 2018, you DO NOT have to have all 4 tires Hoosiers.

1st nite of the 2nd USAC Lightning Sprint Nationals tomorrow nite. Pit gates open at 4 pm, hot laps at 6:30 racing at 7:30. Each nite is a separate nite of racing. Even though you may not make it for tomorrow nite, you can still race Sat nite as it is a complete new program. Sat nite will be an open wheel show with winged 360 sprint cars and micros joining the Lightning Sprints.

Sunny skies and clear nites. Temp will be low to mid 80's during the day and cooling to the mid 60's at nite. "Let's go racin' boys!!"

For both nites Heat race line ups by pill draw. Finishing and passing points for heat race and qualifiers. 1st and 2nd place finishers in Fri nites A main guaranteed a starting spot in Sat nite A Main.

A big thanks to Tim and Debbie Trimble, owners of Lake Ozark Speedway, for holding the 2nd USAC Lightning Sprint Nationals. The track was smooth and racey both nites. The Trimble's and their entire staff are super friendly and want to make sure everyone enjoys themselves.

The total payout for both nites was approximately $ 12,000 as we had no B features and not full fields of 24 cars each nite.

Thank you to all the cars that participated. Maybe we can do it again next year.
