Rushville Nationals set for July 4th at the Rush County Fairgrounds

The “Rushville Nationals” return to the Rush County Fairgrounds on July 4th when the Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Jenmarco.com compete on the 1/6th mile dirt oval in Rushville, Indiana.

2014 marks the first year for the “Rushville Nationals” to be held under MTQRL sanction and a strong field of cars and drivers are expected to compete. To attract a larger car count with more racing action for the fans to enjoy, the Rush County Fair Board has solicited sponsors to increase the purse to a minimum of $150 to start the feature, with each position increased by at least $75. In order to receive the additional prize money cars must also compete at both Rush County Fair races on June 26th and 27th.

Defending MTQRL champion Nick Speidel of Muncie, current point leader Cody Kiewitt of Dudleytown and a slew of local drivers are expected to compete. Matthew Hedrick, 4-time MTQRL champion Tate Martz, 2013 Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Year Aaron Percell and rookie Tyler Wooten from Rushville, Milroy’s Jon Steed, third generation driver Brayton Leisure of Morristown, rookie Brad Coleman of Shelbyville, Connersville’s Mike Paxson and Greensburg’s Ronnie Combs.

Racing is set to begin at 7:30 pm at each Rushville race when the four fastest qualifiers compete in the Jackson Oil & Solvents Duel for Fuel. Following the Duel will be the Perfect North Slopes heat races and a semi-feature for those drivers not transferring through their heat. Capping off the evening on the fair nights will be a 25-lap feature. At the Rushville Nationals, a 50-lap feature will follow the fireworks.

The MTQRL wishes to thank the Rush County Fair Board and its sponsors for their support of the Midwest TQ Racing League.
