You've got to give it to Chase Briscoe. Here's a guy that had ample opportunity to have given up. It was obvious that the costs of running a full time sprint car operation were taking their toll on that team and you saw him less and less in the sprinter. He could have went away, like a lot of other really good open wheel drivers have and nobody would have thought the worse of him. But instead of doing that, this guy reinvents himself. Next thing you know, he starts a campaign to win himself a spot on a reality show none of us would have otherwise heard of, finishes second on that, one thing leads to another and wala!, Chase Briscoe is a stock car driver. And as it turns out, a pretty damn good stock car driver. And even though there have people along the way to give him support, if there were one ounce of "quit" in this guy, at any step in the chain of events that led him to where he is right now, none of this would be possible. You just can't not root for a guy like that. One that refuses to give up and succeeds, despite what the odds were. Of course, most of us would have been rooting for him anyway, since his dad is one of our favorite grass roots drivers.
