MTQRL Opens Season with Gas City & Montpelier Doubleheader

The Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Jenmarco.com will open its 2013 season with a trip to two new venues in northeastern Indiana.

On Friday evening May 31st the season begins when the MTQRL three-quarter midgets share the card with sprints, UMP modifieds and thunder cars at the Gas City I-69 Speedway. This will be the only time this year that the TQ midgets race on the Gas City oval and the MTQRL drivers are looking forward to competing on the always racy quarter mile track.

Adult general admission is $12, children 7-12 are $5, and under 6 are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Pit admission is $25 and you must be 14 to enter. The track opens at 4:00 pm and racing is set to begin at 7:30 pm.

On Saturday June 1st the MTQRL ventures 20 miles east to the Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier. Along with the MTQRL three-quarter midgets racing will feature midgets, UMP modifieds, super streets and thunder cars. Features only will be contested for the FWD compacts and mod lites immediately following hot laps.

Adult general admission is $12 and children 12 and under free. Pit admission is $30 and you must be 14 to enter. Gates open at 3:00 pm, hot laps are at 5:00 pm, and racing begins at 6:30 pm.

As an added bonus the MTQRL and its sponsors have formed a point fund that will reward those that compete at Montpelier. $1,000 has been set aside to be distributed evenly amongst the car owners that participate in all four Montpelier races.
