Beware.

I just spoke with Comcast and they told me that if you sign on to The Prelude and it does not happen, you will be charged $24.95.

Evidently they have had a lot of calls about this, as they new exactly what I was talking about. Pretty impressive for a national cable company to know what is going on in Rossburg, Ohio.

There take was we provide the service for the program and if the program does not occur, that is out of their control. Tough luck.

Just a heads up.

Well, If you paid for a pay per view fight that ended in the first minute of the first round, would you expect any cable operator to refund at least a portion of your purchase price? NOT.....

Look at it this way, it's just like buying a meal at a restaurant, and you decide that, while there is nothing wrong the food, you've lost your appetite and don't eat the meal... Would you expect the restaurant to offer you another meal, for a later date, or would you just chalk it up to experience?

HBO PPV and its partners are spending a lot of money to put on the Prelude. and they cannot control the weather...so you'll probably see shots of a wet race track, if it rains, at some point in the evening...

Kind of like USAC at Grandview last night after the rainout - no feature, until next year....and probably no rain checks since all of the sprint car races were run, except the feature....

Did they offer you a kiss with that?

Fortunately, the show went on as planned. And from what I hear, it was a fantastic show. The main purpose of the event was to raise money for charity. The racing is a bonus.

If you have to squawk over a mere $24.95, then you probably shouldn't be spending the money in the first place.

I wasn't able to attend the event nor watch it on PPV but I sent a donation. Just like I do to many other great racing charitable organizations.
