How many sprints will there be and what is the pay out? If it is 700 to win is it worth driving 4 hours to race 13 other cars?

We broke speeding laws in 13 counties to get to Flora yesterday. It was myself, Kyle Larson, Cj Leary, and Casey Shuman in a convoy.
Once me and Larson got to the pit gate the lady at the track asked, "what kind of car is in the trailer"? We said "its a sprint car!" She said, "oh good, now we have two!" Sadly, we broke laws and drove over a 100 mph through two states to only find out one sprint car was is in the pits. Larson, Shuman, Leary, and Chet Williams put on a $400 to win 4 car race. Not ideal but what a story. No offense to Flora, they were nice people, but I will be reserving my Sundays for Kokomo. Interviews and highlights from Flora are up now on www.jackslash.com Posted via Mobile Device |

After a pit meeting with Larson, Shuman, Leary, and Williams (after the heat LOL)
A race director gathered the boys around and simply asked, "So what do you guys wanna be paid?" haha LOL After a few minutes of haggling, it was decided that it would be pay $400 to win, $300 for 2nd, and $200 for 3rd and 4th. The race director said, "ok that works for me, I will have your checks for you after the race." Shuman said, "CASH!" Well, after the race Shuman got a check that was addressed to "Kasey Shoeman" What a day.... |

I think they has 12 or 13 when they got rained out on Saturday night. It does suck what you guys went through, but atleast the track paid the guys. I know a few tracks that would have just said, here is your pit money back, thanks for coming.

What a great story about real racers! Sean, I know it isn't like you don't have anything to do, but I am sure that you have dozens of stories which would add to the lore of sprint car racing. I think it would be really great if you would document racing not only with your video work, but by putting stories like this on paper for everyone to read.
Congratulations to you, Kyle, Casey and C. J. and the other members of the caravan for being the true racers you are, determined to race on Sunday night.
