NASCAR broadcasters planning to have announcers go silent from laps 9 to 11 of Saturday's Cup race at Richmond as tribute to 9/11 -- that's a pretty cool way to do it..

I guess that wouldn't work if Darrell was announcing

The coverage would be easier to tolerate if they went silent from the first lap to the last....

That would be nice, but lap 9 to 11 is a nice way to remember that terrible event. Of course they'll spend 3 hours of self promotion and reminding you of the moment of silence
