I was truly saddened when I heard about the tragedy that took place in the Johnson family. I am very sorry for your loss. My dad and brother filled me in and it’s hard to imagine the loss you must feel. Bub and Maxine, you guys where a huge part in what I consider to be the best time of life and I will never forget the memories. I remember Maxine would bring some sort of baked goods to the track and i remember Bub always whistling and when he stopped oh boy look out but you guys always made us feel like we where a part of your family. I looked forward to every Saturday night at P’ville or at Paragon so that we could be with great people like you. As far as racing went you guys did more with less than anybody else in those days with Al Redman behind the wheel and Bub turning the wrenches. Yep that was a great time for me. Again I am very sorry for your loss and you are most definitely in the Gurley family thoughts and prayers. John Gurley
