Since the new promoters are looking for racers opinions on what to run when, what do you guys think about how often and what night the sprint cars may get a car count?

Is there enough interest for a weekly show?

What about every other week?

Once a month?

If any of the above, what night?

Seems to me that they ought to do what the old promoter did,run against big shows on Friday nights (ex-Kiss,Usac).Buy the car counts they had, it seemed to work.Don't know how there crowd was because I was alway at the "other shows".Hope they run sprint cars and I can catch a race there:thumb:checkered:

I look forward to seeing Sprint Cars at VCS again. VCS should try to run shows when there are not big shows close to the track. Try and run a few KISS shows and maybe an MSCS race or two. Good luck to VCS, i wish them the best!

I was told by the promoter at jacksonville that it is not a for sure thing that they are going to run saturdays. It sounds like it is still up in the air as of now.

Would be nice to see Jacksonville run the sprints on friday nights and let Danville run them on saturday nights then let them run at New Berlin sunday nights.Nice to have non wing sprints going three nights a weekend in IL. if they could all get together and work this out.

I would love to go back there, the UMRA ran our TQs there two years ago with a sprint show there and it was on of the best tracks we ran at all year and it was a good show. So think TQs again! I would love to go back there!

Any amount of sprint car racing is better than none at Danville, but to get a following of both drivers, cars and fans, I think it would be best for Joe Spiker to commit to a weekly program. No matter what night Danville would run, there are enough cars for a good show. KISS, MSCS or USAC shows are not really an option there as the cost of those shows are hard to cover due to the area economy and grandstand size. For a guy starting out and trying to get it off the ground, Joe needs to run a weekly deal to build a base so he can survive these times.
Jacksonville did just that last year. And thankfully, were able to survived 6 or 7 rainouts in a row at the start of the season, but finished on a high note with their $6000 to win "unsanctioned" race.
Joe and I have talked and he has some good ideas and seems excited about the 2009 season. However it plays, out I'll be there as a sponsor and driver.
