The "Big Cars" of the USAC Silver Crown Series will roar around the World's Fastest 1 Mile Dirt Oval, The Springfield Mile, for the 56th edition of the Bettenhausen. This series is well known not only for fantastic racing but is a major stepping stone for developing future motorsports superstars such as Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Kasey Kahne, Kyle Larson. That is on top of names like A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti, Al Unser, Parnelli Jones, and many more legends who made their living driving the Champ Cars on the USAC Championship circuit. The 24th Annual Illinois Sportsman Nationals will set their feature field as well with their heat races today.
