I actually had the opportunity to drop in at Madera for the DMS Driver Challenge during it's first week of operation, and I found it to be an excellent program that offered some young aspiring drivers an opportunity to showcase their skills to some influential people in the sport. For their initial investment, these competitors will now be monitored in their progress in the various forms of racing they compete in, and I believe it will behoove any young driver to get involved in this program in the future. It's money well spent, and an opportunity to not only show what you've got, but to learn a great deal from the experience of driving a pavement midget in front of those who can offer assistance and advice. I really enjoyed seeing Tim and Bryan Clauson, Ryan Kaplan, and Marc DeBeaumont work with these drivers during the two days I was there.

Kudos to Marc for creating such a great program to help develop more young racing talent. The sport can only benefit from such a thing.
