I just received my April 15th issue today. That's worse than usual. I must admit that it doesn't matter much anymore. I love the paper, and will keep subscribing, but I now read it for the columns and the extended stories of the races. I know who won everything I care about within hours of the race.

The problem is the local post office. If you go ask, they'll probably deny it, but I have a friend who works in the big regional center here, and he says they come through there on time every week. The local post offices don't have the manpower to sort all the mail that comes in every day, so they sort all the first class mail, then whatever else they can.

My copy of the New Yorker, dated next Monday, came today, too. It comes every Tuesday, as regular as clockwork. I guess they think that shiny-paper magazines are more important than newsprint publications.
