Folks, Please be nice....Gas City, Bloomington, and all the rest work very hard on thier track. Its dirt and it can go either way all the time. The weather plays a HUGE roll in prepping a track, everything from humidity to clouds. Its a tricky call when to water, how much to water, when to grade, when to sheepsfoot....on and on.
Equipment is another valuable tool.....you gotta have water trucks, sheepsfoot, and tractors and much more. Keeping this equipment running and working is a chore sometimes. We at Lawrenceburg spent alot of money on new equipment this spring, we bought a 4,000 gallon water truck, a vibratory sheeps foot and built a cool drag. Last week was a hell week for all the equipment, i played water pump swap 3 times, one pump locked up, and cost us time and energy. In closing i want to say take it easy on Gas City, i know they work very hard on the track and if it was'nt perfect it was'nt because of effort. Yes this weekend our track was good, but it could go the other way very easily. I applaud our track crew for doing such a great job and working on it everyday and night. Tim Johnson, Mel Johnson, Dave Reese and Myself, along with other guys who help some also.
