First off..I for one would really like to see the SCORA Series become succesful. But to call the series organized at this point seems a bit premature. Where are the rules? What are the rules? Is there a list of racers that are actually going to show up at the track with a car?..or is this guaranteed car count based on "racers commited to being interested" (quote by Sam).
Running a limited sprint car class with such a vague set of rules will lead to heated altercations in the pits and at the SCORA tent. If someone shows up with a thumper steel block and a titanium car and starts to dominate, Sam has told me that, "there may be a question" (quote) And someone eventually will show up with a thumper...even if the race pays $25 to win.
This does not sound organized..it sounds like adding and/or changing rules in mid stroke.
I am not trying to be negative...just realistic.
The Danville promotors should be applauded for trying out weekly sprints...they are in uncharted waters...but in tough economic times I can understand their caution.
I would like to see the pits filled with 30 SCORA sprint cars, but in reality I think we will see 10-12 cars. Just my opinion. Thanks
