A lot of drivers and fans got excited about learning that Joe Spiker was going to run the SCORA steel block class weekly, along with the open 410 class at Danville this year. Now Roger Hughes says that there will only be 5 special races in favor of a crate late model series.
If PA and OH can run 410, 358, and 305 sprints on the same night, why can't Danville run 2? Forget that it's been known as a "stock car track"......BS, it was a DEAD track.....died at the hands of a stock car promotor who had no stock car fans last year to support it. Joe is now resurrecting it. Why in the world, when everything was falling into place, would they want to go backwards? This is a time of transition for Danville, so now would be the time for true change. If there are enough crates.....then I'd say run them. But with plenty of 410's anxious to come, and SCORA organized and ready to go with plenty of cars, why not? They have changed from Friday to Sat nights, and Joe has told me "Sprint cars bring fans", so lets run'm both. That's my opinion.....whats yours?
