Sam, I think this person has hit on an interesting point. Decent used roller sprint cars can be had for $4,000 and less. That's VERY comparable to a good used modified roller. A guy can take his modified motor (let him run his carb. who cares?), drop it in a sprinter, and go race for much larger purses and starting money without any bigger investment. The rub will be getting that into their heads. Put them on a HARD tire. Take that expense right out of the deal, and it will also keep the super high horsepower guys in check. And, a word of caution regarding the tracks you run...take a good look at the locations of the folks who are commiting to run your series. Pick tracks that are central to where they all live. Steel block folks don't have the travelling expense budget that aluminum blockers have. Start with a central group of tracks and racers, then in the following years once you've built a decent field of cars, you might venture out a bit. $.02 Best of luck to you. :thumb
