You must run this race or pay a hardship fee to race their national event. Last year you would of had to drive to Lansing MI. to qualify. With USAC it is the same way, not a new idea.
Also the USAC championship at IMS is a replacement, for now, for the Gasoline Alley Nationals run by the Nervo family as a JSCA event, not QMA. This event has always had a waiting list in the past so I believe car counts will not be a problem.
No pissing here either...and I'm relatively new to QMA, so I don't know all the details as you do. Thank you for your info. But I'm not at all new to racing, and though the idea of just paying a higher entry fee is better than the extra cost of driving that far, I would of thought with starting a new deal, and in this economy USAC might consider making it easier to race than that.
