Wobbler, last time it happened to me, my 3rd center section, I measured the bore, minus the bearing, and added a couple thou, and went to my local, old time auto supply store, and bought a length of feeler stock, I think they are 12 in long, set it in the bore, cut it to length, got everything ready, warmed up the housing, and installed the bearing, still holding. Actually I had thought of getting a sheet of brass shim material and doing a similar thing but wasn't too sure if it would be successful or not. I think I will give it a try when I am ready to put it back together. It has got to be a lot cheaper option then getting it machined and a shim made.
