I am happy to report that Andrew's MRI today went very well. For the third consecutive MRI it has shown that the sight of the former tumor(the doctors words, not ours) is smaller and showing no signs of growth. His spine and other vital organs are clear and show no signs of any activity related to AT/RT.
I struggle on MRI days as I just hope and pray that the little guy continues to show improvement. The week of it seems that the clock is ticking and we just get very anxious to get this done and see the results. A huge weight seems to be lifted when the results come in.
I spoke with my son a few minutes ago, and with the chemo treatments complete, the latest MRI showing very favorable results, they can now take some time to plot out the next part of his treatment. So many AT/RT patients don't ever get this far along and so the data from case studies that is available is much smaller. So far the protocol that they decided upon over a year ago has worked very well. We pray that the decisions that are made continue to be very positive.
The emotions are flowing this evening and I want to thank each of you who continue to send thoughts, prayers and encouragement our direction. We would love to celebrate a whole bunch but we continue to live and realize that we are still in a fight. The journey continues and the Padfield family thanks each of you who have joined in and followed Andrew's progress. Tonight is another very special night. Thanks for sharing in our journey.
