True, but it would be to the tail of the cars
on the lead lap. Even when the lapped cars are positioned where they were on the track on the last scored lap, and the driver charged with the yellow is physically behind the lapped cars on the reline, provided he was on the lead lap when he caused the yellow, that driver is still considered ahead of the lapped cars in terms of position.
