Leaders Edge has often stated that the cool thing about a 100 mile Silvercrown race is that you don't luck into a win. It takes preparation, planning, patience and execution to be successful. Making the races into twin 50's takes a lot of that out of the equation.

While the safety concerns brought up are valid, a driver can get burnt by 1 gallon of fuel just as easily as 75 gallons. 75 gallons just takes a hell of a lot more water to dilute and extinguish.
