When my wife & I got there we were nervous because we knew taking the wings off of a whole field of cars that lack wingless experience has the potential to be disastrous. Watching warm-ups didn't help alleviate our fear either as they looked pretty squirrely. But I must admit the drivers & crew picked up on it pretty quick. By the time they ran the heats several guys looked good & by feature time all of them but a few really looked like they had the hang of it. I think that really says a lot about the talent level of the super sportsman drivers. Those guys really gained my respect last night running very close to each other, close but clean. No way in hell could the local 358 sprint guys do what the Super Sportsman drivers & crew did last night. Great job guys!!!
All in all, a very entertaining show from the open wheel cars last night. I hope we see more of it in the future. Personally, I’d like to see a once a month Sunday night open wheel double header of wingless super sportsman & ARDC midgets at Williams Grove, Lincoln or other area tracks. That would ROCK!!!
