The other post says that cars will be on display at Eldora tonight. Have any tracks made the committment to charter with USAC yet?
I certainly didn't get the impression that the "membership" would have any say in a SPEC tire rule, or any rule for that matter. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I don't think it's going to a vote.
There are certainly things that I would personally like to see change in our sport. I am hopeful that USAC will bring some of these changes, but all I've seen to this point are vague ideas with little substance behind them. It's great that they intend to promote the sport, but what are they going to do that we can't/haven't done already? We have 100 cars weekly and had 20+ new members join the club this season. Can they top that? If so, how? What is the marketing/promotion strategy? What is the marketing/promotion budget for 2009?
There are many, many quesitons yet to be answered. I am eager to hear USAC's responses to all of them.
In my opinion, this could be very good or very bad for the sport. Let's hope it doesn't end up being an IRL & CART sort of situation.
