WOW. Didn't see that coming. What a huge shock. I spoke and emailed with him several times this past week. He, myself and Donald Davidson from the speedway were doing some research on a 500 chief mechanic from the 60's.
Dwight was a rare guy. He would gladly give you the shirt off his back, a genuinely nice person. He would drop what he was doing to help someone out.
I had the pleasure of dealing with him in the past when he was a race official. Racing could use more people like Dwight. More often than not, he was the voice of reason.
So sorry to hear this news, rest in peace old buddy. Save me a seat in the top row. :crying:
