Update: Sat night at Lincoln Speedway (~25 mi N of Jeff's hometown) the drivers went into the stands with helmets & collected $7,300 from the fans. To put that in perspective. It was the regular Sat show which pays $2500 to win the regular 410 Sprint 25L feature. Tonight's 50:50 payout was ~ $1,200. Looked like a normal Sat night crowd - maybe a little bigger because they ran Twin 20's.
Should help with the Air Evac fund & other expenses.

Jeff's brother Judd (a former Sprint driver himself) took the PA & provided this update - Jeff was flown to Baltimore early Sat. He's in Sinai Med Ctr (specially qual'd to provibe the rehab he needs). It's ~ :45 min from home. Parents are pulling 12 hr shifts so he's never alone, because, Judd said, "it was touch & go a couple times last week." Judd hadn't seen him since Mon in Iowa (after Thurs crash) & sounded encouraged by the progress. Jeff's now able to communicate verbally & move around with the aid of a walker, for short periods. He remembers nothing from Iowa. He has no other physical injuries. Jeff recieved 500+ email Get Well cards via the hospitals website, from all over the US & Australia.
Sounded cautiously optimistic.
