I think USAC needs to take a hard look at this. These state fair races are a chance for the series to shine and to expose their stars to the nominal fan. There are people that go to these races that maybe only go to the races a few times a year.
Couldn't USAC hit up local business for lap sponsorship or something? Try to raise more bucks for the purse to take care of the owners and drivers better.
Like I said, 7 to 9 thousand fans is a chance for USAC to really make a mark with fans and promote themselves, the series, the drivers etc....
Don't miss that opportunity.
It is up to the promoter to get lap prize money, not USAC. USAC is now trying to market themselves more, but they have nothing to do with bringing in purse money. They do have input into the the purse structuring, I believe, but they do not have anything to do with putting up the money.
