The gentleman and his wife who originally purchased Macon from Sargent & Co. did a phenomenal job of managing the events, the camping area and the concessions during the one season they owned it. The most recent ownership did what we considered to be just as well in reference to management of events, etc. A good bit of money was invested in new restrooms (the place has needed updated facilities for over a decade) prior to the 2024 season. Sarg would sometimes include 4 or 5 support classes which as often as not induce less that favorable track conditions by the time the headliner ran their event. That hasn't happened with the two subsequent owners.

Don't know much personally about the present owners but it's been our experience the place has been run at least as well as Sarg and in some cases better. The townspeople seem to embrace the speedway, which isn't always the case. If asked I'd advise anyone who thinks Macon is not the same post Sarg that it's as good or better now.
